Ruppiner Selen
Supplementary feed to compensate for a selenium deficiency
As a cell protection preparation, Ruppiner Selenium has antioxidant properties thanks to two highly effective sources of selenium, vitamin E and grape pomace. These slow down or prevent oxidation of other substances. It also supports the immune system and muscle metabolism. A selenium deficiency can lead to muscle damage with stiffness or even lameness. A deficiency is often caused by selenium-poor soils and therefore it should be added in the required amount. However, an oversupply of selenium should also be avoided.
BENEFITS:
- Effective combination of organically and non-organically bound selenium
- Can help to compensate for a selenium deficiency
- Support of the immune system and muscle metabolism
- With vitamin E for optimal utilization
How much Ruppiner Selenium should I feed my horse?
Due to the higher content of trace elements compared to complete feed, this supplementary feed may only be fed with up to 9 g per 100 kg body weight and day.
Intended for short-term use only.
Recommendations for use:
- Adult horses (600 kg): 50 g / animal / day
- Foals: max. 15 g / animal / day
The feeding recommendation refers to a roughage intake (hay) of 1.5 kg per 100 kg body weight and day.
How long should I feed my horse Ruppiner Selenium?
The feeding is intended for short-term use only. Ruppiner Selen should not be fed for longer than 4 weeks.
For which horses is Ruppiner Selenium suitable?
Ruppiner Selenium is basically suitable for all horses that cannot cover their selenium requirement through daily feeding and have a corresponding deficiency.
What problems can Ruppiner Selenium help with?
A selenium deficiency can lead to muscle damage, tension and even lameness. Ruppiner Selenium can compensate for the deficiency, which can alleviate the symptoms.
Can Ruppiner Selen be fed to pregnant, lactating mares and foals?
Yes, especially broodmares in their third trimester and foals have an increased need. Foals are allowed to take in a maximum of 15 g/day.
